Zhi-Min Hu, a Montreal-based Chinese-origin filmmaker, continues to broaden her filmmaking experience through writing, producing, directing, and editing numerous short films, including fiction, experimental, and documentary.
She has developed herself into a director with a unique signature combining a surrealistic and realistic style, and an editor with experiences in TV show, such as Loftstory. She is fascinated by stories that explore human nature, psychology, and social aspects.
Her films have been presented in many international and local film festivals, including the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner, Fantasia Film Festival, Vancouver Asian Film Festival, Victoria Film Festival, Montreal Wrold Film Festival, and 2012 CBC FaceOff Short Film Competition, among others.
In addition to filmmaking, Zhi-Min is quite active in other fields. She is a professional photographer as well as a film critic for a Montreal-based Chinese weekly newspaper, a former TV host and researcher for a Chinese community show on CJNT known as SINO-MONTREAL and part of the jury of 2012 Amerasia Film Festival.
